Biography
Emmy Newman is the great-niece of Oscar-winner Paul Newman and granddaughter of production manager Arthur Newman. She was born among the techies in the Bay Area, California. Despite growing up amidst the tech boom and start-up mecca, all Emmy wanted to do was read, sing, dance, and act. She decided that she wanted to create characters and stories in the heartland of the film industry. After she majored in Theater and Psychology at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, she moved to Los Angeles and has acted in short films, commercials, and features, as well as directed short films and a commercial. She is working on getting her first feature film as a writer and director made. Emmy is represented by Rebecca Ek at Eris Talent. She loves the Criterion collection, the game Boggle, and has a vast knowledge of dog breeds. Her childhood years of reading Dog Fancy magazine paid off recently when she able to identify a Chesapeake Bay Retriever from a single image.
